JOHN KEYS

John was born in Brisbane, Queensland in 1947.

He served a total of 17 months in South Vietnam with the 1st Armoured Regiment, April 1969 to September 1970.

After his Army service John travelled to Europe and began working on Oil Rigs for the next 13 years. His career covered the North Sea, Middle East and Libya.

John currently works for ‘Caltex’ at the Kurnell Refinery and has been employed there for the past 21 years.

John joined the Sub Branch in 1987 after transferring from Tweed Heads and has served on the committee as Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary, SMDC Delegate and Publicity Officer for the past 10 years.

John is currently the Honorary Secretary of the Sub Branch
